Axel doesn’t just know music from listening to it. Since the early 1980s, he has played keyboards in Hamburg rock and pop bands, worked as a producer and arranger, studied popular music and toured Germany with the duo TWO4ONE in the early 1990s. This makes him the perfect companion: a presenter who not only finds the right words, but also understands sounds.
The concept is simple and clever: the focus is on rock and pop, sometimes reinterpreted, sometimes classic, sometimes live. Each week brings its own colourfulness. On the first Monday, the focus is on cover songs: familiar melodies, interpreted in new and surprising ways. The second Monday sounds deliberately unplanned, because sometimes the unplanned is the best. When the third Monday comes around, Axel dives into the world of prog rock, with soundscapes that leave you wanting more. And when the fourth Monday arrives, there are only live recordings, real concert flair right in your living room.
Axel repeatedly brings his ‘Far-fetched’ section into play, with surprising connections, cross-references and a pinch of humour. This makes every evening dynamic without being hectic.
