Gary Jackson doesn’t need a show staircase. He lets the music speak for itself. Great classics, long pieces, rare gems, that’s the DNA of this programme. Songs can run for ten minutes or more here. No cuts, no compromises. Instead: time to listen, immerse yourself, reflect.
Sounds like Pink Floyd, Genesis or The Moody Blues? Absolutely. But Gary goes further: Wishbone Ash, The Strawbs, Camel, The Allman Brothers Band and other lesser-known greats of classic and progressive rock also have their place here. It’s the perfect mix for anyone who loves the genre or wants to discover it.
The presentation remains deliberately restrained. Only the bare essentials, no show effects. And yet there is structure: the slightly quirky ‘sloppy bit in the middle’ provides charming breaks, while the intro quiz at the end encourages listeners to think for themselves.
